Dr. Matthew H. Kanzler is a board-certified dermatologist with decades of experience in general dermatology. Over the course of his career, he has treated a wide range of dermatologic conditions while also serving in leadership and teaching roles at major academic and medical institutions.

Spending many years at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center (SCVMC) in San Jose, California, Dr. Kanzler served as Chief of Dermatology and Director of Physician Billing, Compliance, and Education. He also held an academic appointment at Stanford University School of Medicine as Clinical Professor in the Department of Dermatology and as Program Director of the Stanford Dermatology Residency Program.
Dr. Kanzler is a diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology (ABD) and the National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME). He is also a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) and has been a member of several professional organizations, including the American Medical Association (AMA), the California Dermatology and Dermatologic Society (CDDS), the Pacific Dermatologic Society (PDS), and the San Francisco Dermatologic Society (SFDS). He has been Assistant Editor of the Journal of American Academy of Dermatology for decades, has published over 40 medical articles in national journals, and has presented frequently at regional and national medical meetings.
Among Dr. Kanzler’s many honors are recognition from Best Doctors in America and Best Doctors in the San Francisco Bay Area, as well as Teacher of the Year by Stanford Dermatology residents.
In his spare time, Dr. Kanzler is a lifelong competitive swimmer who has won many national titles. He continues to swim every morning with a group of fellow dedicated swimmers at Waikiki.
